Albion 62 Series

A kingpinless caster replaces the traditional single kingpin bolt with a fully enclosed raceway bearing system. This eliminates the bolt that commonly loosens or breaks in heavy-duty use, resulting in significantly longer service life, smoother swivel operation, and reduced maintenance. For loads above 1,000 lbs per caster or tow applications, kingpinless is the industry-recommended design.

The 62 Series covers approximately 700 lbs to over 2,000 lbs per caster depending on wheel size and material. A set of four 62 Series casters with polyurethane-on-iron wheels in the 8" diameter can handle total loads exceeding 6,000 lbs using the three-caster load calculation method.

Yes. The kingpinless design is specifically engineered for the lateral stress and repeated directional changes found in tow line, tugger, and AGV-pulled cart trains. The enclosed bearing raceway prevents the swivel flutter and premature kingpin failure that conventional casters experience under towing forces.

Forging produces a denser, grain-aligned steel structure compared to stamped or cast components. This means the 62 Series yoke resists bending and fatigue cracking under sustained loads and shock impacts, which is critical in die handling, aerospace tooling, and other high-value heavy transport applications.
