Floor Locks

Wheel brakes only prevent the wheel from rotating. The caster can still swivel, shift sideways, or rock on its kingpin. A floor lock presses a rubber pad against the floor, creating a rigid anchor point that resists movement in all directions. This is especially important for workstations where stability is critical.

Floor locks mount with a top plate, just like a caster. Drill or use existing bolt holes on your cart frame between two caster positions. Bolt the floor lock's top plate to the frame, then adjust the pad height so it contacts the floor firmly when engaged. No special tools are required beyond a wrench and drill.

Yes. The adjustable height mechanism allows you to set the pad position to match your specific floor conditions. The rubber contact pad also conforms slightly to minor surface irregularities. For significantly uneven floors, adjust the floor lock until the pad makes solid contact when the pedal is fully depressed.

One floor lock provides basic anchoring for light-duty carts. For standard four-caster carts, two floor locks at diagonal corners deliver balanced stability. Large, heavy, or long equipment platforms benefit from a floor lock at each end, or at all four corners for maximum hold.
