About This Caster - 62CA05201S
Choose this 5-inch cast iron swivel for a heavy cart that has to clear thresholds and rough floor on a hot or chip-strewn shop floor, the duty where the 4-inch wheel hangs up on transitions but a polymer tread still cannot take the heat.
The 5-inch diameter rolls over floor breaks and debris a 4-inch wheel stalls against, and the grey cast iron wheel sheds chips and holds to 800°F where rubber and polyurethane soften. The roller bearing carries the heavy load under the swivel. It is the mid-size heavy-heat caster of the 62 Series.
Ideal applications
- Heavy shop carts crossing thresholds on hot floor, to 800°F
- Foundry and machine-shop rigs with debris underfoot, hard floor
- Heat-line transport that needs obstacle clearance, multi-shift
Skip cast iron under dropped or impacted loads; grey iron chips under shock, so the ductile iron 62FR takes impact without cracking.
