The pipe-thread stem screws into a 3/4 NPT pipe leg, the fitment for the many institutional carts and racks fabricated from threaded pipe, and the ball bearing suits a high-traffic cart by keeping the small wheel rolling through the constant starts and stops a plain bearing would stiffen under. The soft Grey Performa rubber tread keeps the cart quiet and non-marking on a finished floor. At 2.5 inches it stays maneuverable in tight aisles.
