Light Duty Utility Cart Casters

Light-duty, easy-rolling, non-marking casters, typically rubber or polyolefin wheels sized 2 to 6 inches and rated 75 to 350 lbs per caster. They balance easy rolling, floor protection, and durability for the general-purpose carts found across offices, shops, and facilities.

Measure the existing caster, its mount type (top plate or stem), and the bolt pattern, then match the replacement. Most utility carts use top-plate casters that bolt on with four holes. Match the wheel size and capacity to keep the cart rolling the same.

These range from about 75 to 350 lbs per caster, suiting general-purpose utility carts and light equipment. For heavier carts, step up to a medium or heavy duty caster. Divide your total load across all casters and add a safety margin.

Two rigid casters on one end and two swivel casters on the other is the classic setup, giving straight tracking with easy steering. Add a brake or two if the cart needs to stay parked. All four swivel makes a cart more maneuverable but harder to push straight.
