About This Caster - ES8X2PHNBTBK
Set this 8-inch phenolic swivel on the steering corners of a heavy hand-pushed cart that crosses dock plates and then has to hold, where a ball bearing keeps the steer light and the brake locks the wheel.
The wheel is hard resin-bonded phenolic from Pemco: it carries a heavy load on a small footprint and shrugs off oil, grease, and solvent from -45°F to 250°F. The precision ball bearing cuts the push effort so a tall loaded cart steers by hand, the 8-inch wheel bridges dock plates, and the tread-lock brake presses on the wheel to hold the cart still while the swivel still turns. The brown phenolic wheel bolts on through a 4 by 4-1/2 inch top plate.
Ideal applications
- Steering corners of heavy dock-plate carts that steer then hold
- Ball bearing for a light steer on a tall 8-inch wheel
- Tread lock holding a swivel that bridges broken floor
