About This Caster - D4.04108.835 SS
Choose this 4-inch Defender D4 rigid when a wash-down cart needs a low-cost, corrosion-proof caster and the load is modest.
The frame is stainless steel, built for wet and chemical areas that rust a plated caster, and the wheel is polyolefin, an economical hard plastic that resists chemicals and moisture, will not absorb water or swell, and wipes clean for sanitary use. The pedestal precision ball bearing keeps it rolling smoothly on faster, frequent trips and tow lines. Polyolefin is a value tread rather than a load champion, so it carries less than a poly-on-core wheel, and being hard it gives no cushioning and can mark a soft finished floor. It serves from -45 to 180°F. This is the budget-minded rigid for clean, damp, lightly loaded carts that need to track straight.
