Choose this 8-inch Empire 170 phenolic swivel with an FBC face brake when the heaviest cart turns in tight space around oils or solvents, then parks and holds.

The FBC brake is the close-radius face-brake style, sized to stop the wheel where aisles are short and the heaviest cart maneuvers in close quarters. The wheel is phenolic, a hard resin-bonded composite that takes -65 to 250°F and resists oils, solvents, and water, with low rolling resistance on smooth floors. It is hard with no cushioning, so it transmits shock, can mark, and is best off soft or littered surfaces. At 8 inches it carries up to 1,400 pounds on a roller bearing, turns on a kingpinless welded raceway with no central pin to loosen, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 9-1/2-inch mount height, and is zinc plated.
