About This Caster - 170TM08201S01FBBL
Choose this 8-inch Empire 170 phenolic swivel with combined face brake and swivel lock when the heaviest cart works in extreme temperatures or chemical areas, then has to park dead still.
This is the total-lock build: the face brake stops the wheel and the swivel lock holds the swivel, so the heaviest loaded cart cannot roll or rotate when set on a slope or loading point. The wheel is phenolic, a hard resin-bonded composite that takes -65 to 250°F and resists oils, solvents, and water that break down softer treads. It is hard with no cushioning, so it transmits shock, can mark, and is best off soft or littered surfaces. At 8 inches it carries up to 1,400 pounds on a roller bearing, turns on a kingpinless welded raceway, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 9-1/2-inch mount height, and is zinc plated.
