About This Caster - 170TM08201R01
Choose this 8-inch Empire 170 phenolic rigid when the heaviest straight-line cart works in extreme temperatures or chemical areas and needs a hard, low-friction wheel.
The largest wheel in the phenolic line clears thresholds and dock plates and lifts capacity to 1,400 pounds on a fixed cart. The wheel is phenolic, a hard resin-bonded composite that takes -65 to 250°F and resists oils, solvents, and water that swell rubber, with low rolling resistance on smooth floors. It is hard with no cushioning, so it transmits shock, can mark, and is best off soft or littered surfaces. It runs on a roller bearing built for heavy pushing, and the rigid fork tracks straight only on a kingpinless welded raceway, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 9-1/2-inch mount height, and is zinc plated.
