About This Caster - 170AX05228S
Set this 5-inch Empire 170 swivel on a steering corner of an economical cart that maneuvers and clears thresholds under weight.
The AX build is the value version of the Empire 170, bringing kingpinless durability with no central kingpin to loosen, and at 5 inches it carries up to 1,000 pounds and clears thresholds while staying maneuverable. The kingpinless welded raceway keeps the swivel smooth under load, and the maroon round-profile polyurethane tread is non-marking and easy-rolling on a lightweight aluminum core. It steers on a precision ball bearing, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 6-1/2-inch mount height, and holds from -40 to 180°F.
