Set this 5-inch Empire 170 rigid on a fixed corner of an economical cart that clears thresholds and carries weight.

The AX build is the value version of the Empire 170, bringing kingpinless durability, with no central kingpin to loosen under shock, to applications where a premium caster would be over-spec, and at 5 inches it carries up to 1,000 pounds and clears thresholds a 4-inch wheel catches. The maroon round-profile polyurethane tread is non-marking and easy-rolling on a lightweight aluminum core. As a rigid caster it tracks straight on the fixed corners, runs on a precision ball bearing, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 6-1/2-inch mount height, and holds from -40 to 180°F.
