About This Caster - 170AX04228S
Set this 4-inch Empire 170 swivel on a steering corner of a cart that needs an economical, durable, easy-steering wheel.
The AX build is the value version of the Empire 170, bringing kingpinless durability, no central kingpin to loosen under shock, to applications where a premium caster would be over-spec, and it carries up to 700 pounds at this size. The kingpinless welded raceway keeps the swivel smooth under load, and the maroon round-profile polyurethane tread is non-marking and easy-rolling on a lightweight aluminum core. It steers on a precision ball bearing, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 5-5/8-inch mount height, and holds from -40 to 180°F.
