About This Caster - 170AX04228R
Set this 4-inch Empire 170 rigid on a fixed corner of a cart that needs kingpinless durability at an economical price.
The AX build is the value version of the Empire 170: it brings the same kingpinless design, with no central kingpin to loosen under shock, to applications where a premium caster would be over-spec, and it carries up to 700 pounds at this size. The maroon round-profile polyurethane tread is non-marking and easy-rolling on a lightweight aluminum core that will not corrode. As a rigid caster it tracks straight on the fixed corners, runs on a precision ball bearing, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 5-5/8-inch mount height, and holds from -40 to 180°F.
