Choose this 4-inch Empire 170 phenolic swivel with an FBC face brake when a cart turns in tight aisles around oils or solvents, then parks and holds.

The FBC brake is the close-radius face-brake style, sized to stop the wheel where space is short. The wheel is phenolic, a hard resin-bonded composite that takes -65 to 250°F and resists oils, solvents, and water that swell rubber, with low rolling resistance on smooth floors. It is hard with no cushioning, so it transmits shock, can mark, and is best on smooth hard surfaces rather than soft or littered ones. At 4 inches it carries up to 800 pounds on a roller bearing, turns on a kingpinless welded raceway with no central pin to loosen, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a low 5-5/8-inch mount height, and is zinc plated.
