About This Caster - 170SE08228R01
Reach for this 8-inch Empire 170 rigid with a precision ball bearing when the heaviest straight-line cart needs a cushioned wheel that clears big obstacles and rolls with the least operator effort.
The largest wheel in the SE line clears thresholds, hose runs, and dock plates while the precision ball bearing keeps push effort low. The wheel is solid elastomer, a tough rubber-like compound that absorbs shock and runs quietly without ever going flat, grey and non-marking on finished floors. A loaded cart breaks away and moves with a lighter touch than a roller bearing allows, easing repetitive trips, and the caster carries up to 1,200 pounds and takes -40 to 230°F. The rigid fork tracks straight only on a kingpinless welded raceway, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 9-1/2-inch mount height, and is zinc plated.
