Set this 8-inch Empire 170 soft-tread swivel with a combined face brake and swivel lock on the heaviest economical cart corner that needs a cushioned ride, then locks down completely.

This is the total-lock version: a face brake stops the wheel and a swivel lock holds the swivel, so the heaviest loaded cart parks dead still. The 80A tread is a softer 80 Shore A polyurethane that absorbs shock and runs quieter than the firm green PM, gentler on delicate loads, while carrying up to 1,500 pounds at this size. At 8 inches the large wheel clears the biggest obstacles, the butterscotch round polyurethane is non-marking, and the PM build is kingpinless with no central kingpin to loosen. It steers on a precision ball bearing, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 9-1/2-inch mount height, and holds from -40 to 180°F.
