About This Caster - 170CA04201SFBBL
Set this 4-inch Empire 170 cast iron swivel with a combined face brake and swivel lock on a foundry or oven cart corner that has to steer, then lock down completely.
This is the total-lock version: a face brake stops the wheel and a swivel lock holds the swivel, so a loaded cart parks dead still. The cast iron wheel holds from -100 to 800°F where rubber and poly cannot go, with the trade that it is hard, noisy, and damages a soft floor, so it belongs on bare concrete or steel. It is built kingpinless with no central kingpin to fail, runs on a roller bearing, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 5-5/8-inch mount height, and holds from -100 to 800°F.

- 4-inch cast iron total-lock swivel parking a foundry cart dead still
- Face brake and swivel lock holding an iron wheel at extreme temperature
- Kingpinless metal swivel that fully locks on bare concrete
