About This Caster - 170AX08228S01FBBL
Set this 8-inch Empire 170 swivel with a combined face brake and swivel lock on the heaviest economical cart corner that has to steer, then lock down completely.
This is the value total-lock version: a face brake stops the wheel and a swivel lock holds the swivel, so the heaviest loaded cart parks dead still instead of drifting. The AX build carries up to 1,500 pounds at this size, and at 8 inches the large wheel clears the biggest obstacles while steering. The maroon round-profile polyurethane tread is non-marking and easy-rolling on a lightweight aluminum core, and the kingpinless design carries shock without a central kingpin to fail. It steers on a precision ball bearing, bolts on a 4 by 4-1/2-inch top plate at a 9-1/2-inch mount height, and holds from -40 to 180°F.
