Choose this 5-inch Shepherd Institutional stem swivel for fixtures or food-service gear that threads into a socket, steers on an economical wheel, and clears thresholds.
The Institutional line is the flexible 1-1/4-inch-wide range for furniture, electronics, food-service carts, and store fixtures. This is the threaded-stem version, dropping into a 1/2-inch-13 socket rather than bolting to a plate, with a hard polypropylene wheel that resists chemicals and moisture and wipes clean across a wide -20 to 230°F range. The tall 5-inch diameter clears the widest thresholds of the institutional sizes, the swivel steers with a 3.875-inch radius on a plain bearing for light loads, and being hard the wheel can mark a soft floor. It serves from -20°F to 230°F.
