Spec this 8-inch phenolic wheel when a heavy cart needs more tread than a 2-inch face gives but the rig will not take the full 3-inch width.

The 2-1/2-inch tread is the middle step: it widens the footprint under the load past the narrow version without the bulk of the widest one, so it fits frames that a 3-inch wheel crowds. The 8-inch diameter still rolls over chips, hose, and floor joints on a long run, and the hard phenolic carries the load through shop oils and to 180°F where an elastomer would crush. The roller bearing matches the slow, heavy travel these wheels are built for.

Ideal applications

• Heavy carts wanting more footprint than a 2-inch tread, tight frame
• Long aisle runs where an 8-inch wheel clears chips and hose
• Oil-exposed loads on a roller bearing, mid-width tread
