Put this 4-inch Defender D4 rigid on a quiet, finished-floor cart where a flat, stable footprint matters more than easy swiveling.
The wheel is Colson Performa soft rubber in a grey flat tread, the non-marking institutional rubber that runs quietly and cushions the ride, with a flat profile that puts more rubber on the floor for steadier rolling and better load spread than a round tread. The stainless steel frame handles corrosive, sprayed-down rooms, and the pedestal precision ball bearing keeps it rolling smoothly on faster, frequent trips and tow lines. Soft rubber keeps the load class modest, so this is a quiet, floor-friendly caster, not a heavy hauler. Rigid means it tracks straight at the back of the cart. It serves from -45 to 180°F.
