About This Caster - D4.04109.339 SS WB29
Put this 4-inch Defender D4 swivel under equipment that lives in a wash-down or corrosive bay and still has to carry a hard, heat-tolerant load.
The frame is stainless steel, Colson's corrosion-service build for areas that get sprayed down, run wet, or see cleaning chemicals that rust a plated caster. The wheel is hard phenolic on a roller bearing, which carries high load at a small diameter and shrugs off heat and oils that soften an elastomer tread, holding up from -45 to 250°F. That toughness comes with a tradeoff: phenolic is rigid, so it rolls loud and passes floor shock straight through, and it can mark or score a soft finished floor. This is the caster for heat, weight, and corrosion together, not for a quiet ride.
