About This Caster - LKRA-VSTH 50K-RA
Specify this 50mm braked swivel for a compact apparatus or medical device that has to lock its wheels in a tight, low-clearance mount where a full top-plate caster will not fit and a free-rolling one lets the unit wander.
The brake is the Blickle Radstop system: a lever clamps the wheel so the device holds position, while the swivel stays free to be steered back into place when released. The tread is Blickle Extrathane polyurethane at 92 Shore A on a steel centre, firm and non-marking for clean-room and lab floors, and the bolt-hole fitting threads into a frame where there is no room for a plate.
Ideal applications
- Compact medical and diagnostic devices braked at the point of use, vinyl or epoxy floor
- Laboratory instrument stands locked at the bench, finished floor
- Small apparatus frames with bolt-hole mounts and tight wheel wells
Skip the Radstop wheel brake if the whole unit must be locked against steering as well as rolling; a stop-fix total-lock caster freezes the wheel and the swivel together for equipment that cannot be allowed to pivot.
