About This Caster - 110FR05201R
Set this 5-inch ductile iron rigid on the back corners of a hot, heavy cart that takes hard hits, where a grey cast iron wheel cracks on the impact and a soft wheel melts near the heat.
Ductile iron is the tougher metal: it flexes and absorbs a shock that would split a brittle grey cast iron wheel, while still carrying a hard, heavy load and holding from -100 to 800°F. The rigid frame tracks dead straight under a tow, and Albion's 110 Series brings fully heat-treated, kingpinless raceways so a bump cannot shear a kingpin. The roller bearing rolls the weight at a slow, heavy pace.
Ideal applications
- Back corners of hot carts taking hard hits, to 800°F
- Towed runs where grey cast iron would crack on impact
- Foundry and forge rigs needing shock-tough metal wheels
For the steering corners of the same cart, the swivel 110FR06201S pivots and follows at a larger diameter.
Pairs with: matching ductile iron swivels on the front corners so the cart steers up front and tracks at the rear.
