Check the markings on the existing wheel or caster fork. If dimensions are listed in millimeters (e.g., 125mm diameter, 12mm bore), you need a metric wheel. If the equipment was manufactured in Europe or Asia, metric sizing is likely. You can also measure the bore diameter with calipers. Common metric bores (8mm, 10mm, 12mm) do not have exact inch equivalents, so a metric wheel is the correct replacement.

This is not recommended. Even small dimensional mismatches between metric and inch specifications can result in loose fits, bearing problems, or wheels that bind in the fork. A 1/2-inch bore is 12.7mm, which does not match a 12mm metric bore correctly. Always use the correct metric replacement to maintain safe, proper operation.
