About This Floor Lock - 6" Caster / 7-1/2" Height

Add this floor lock to a cart on 6-inch casters when wheel brakes are not enough to keep a loaded cart from being shoved or creeping across the floor.

A floor lock works differently from a caster brake: instead of stopping the wheels, a foot pedal drives a friction pad down to the floor and lifts the cart's weight off the casters, so the whole cart sits planted and cannot roll or be bumped out of position. This unit is sized for a cart that uses 6-inch casters at a 7-1/2-inch mount height, so the pad reaches the floor at full deployment. It mounts to the cart frame and releases with a tap of the pedal when it is time to move again.
