About This Ball Transfer - SBT-1CS-5/16-18-1

Use this 1-inch ball transfer where a panel, box, or fixture has to slide and spin in any direction across a work table.

A ball transfer is a large carbon-steel load ball riding on a bed of smaller steel balls in a housing, so whatever sits on top can be pushed forward, sideways, or rotated in place with one hand instead of lifted and turned. This unit mounts on a 5/16-18 threaded stud an inch long that screws into a tapped hole or bolts through a thin table with a nut, the mid thread size in the stud range. The carbon-steel ball suits a dry indoor table; a wet line would rust it.

Ideal applications

  • Work tables moving panels and boxes in any direction
  • 5/16-18 stud screwing into a tapped table or thin panel
  • Dry indoor transfer and assembly stations

For a smaller or larger mounting thread on the same 1-inch ball, the 1/4-20 stud SBT-1CS-1/4-20-1 and 3/8-16 stud SBT-1CS-3/8-16-1 change the thread.

Pairs with: a grid of stud-mount ball transfers across a transfer table or conveyor section.

Wrong fit? Need a flange or drop-in mount? See the flange-mount BT-1-CS-1 and the drop-in MBT-1CS-1.

Also in this family: the longer-stud SMBT-1-CS-1, or the full Hudson Bearings collection.
