About This Socket - P125
Add this caster socket to a tubular, wood, or resin base so a stem caster can drop straight in, where the leg has no plate to bolt a caster onto and no built-in receiver for a stem.
The socket installs into a defined hole in the base and gives a sized receiver that holds the stem of a grip-ring or threaded caster, so a chair, table, or equipment leg that was never built for casters can take one. Without a socket, a stem caster has nothing to grip in a hollow tube or a drilled wood leg and pulls loose under load; the socket presses in and locks the stem so it stays put. It is zinc-plated steel, one socket per leg, and it turns a fixed base into a rolling one without welding or a new plate.
Ideal applications
- Tubular, wood, or resin bases with no caster plate
- Press-in receiver holding a grip-ring or threaded stem
- Chairs, tables, and equipment legs converted to rolling
Confirm the socket bore matches your caster stem and the base hole matches the socket body before pressing it in; a mismatch will not hold under load.
Pairs with: the grip-ring or threaded-stem caster that drops into it. See the Faultless collection.
Wrong fit? Base already has a flat frame? A top-plate caster bolts on without a socket. See the Faultless collection.
Also in this family: the broader Faultless collection for stem casters and mounts.
