Stairs are the reason this configuration exists. Bolt-on cast aluminum climbers give the truck curved skids so a loaded descent becomes a controlled glide over the stair noses instead of a drop onto every tread.
Pair that with balloon cushion wheels and the whole truck is set up for buildings rather than yards. The 8 inch by 2-1/8 inch cushion wheels on poly hubs roll quietly over tile, thresholds and elevator gaps without the pumping-up that pneumatics need, and the cast 14 inch by 7-1/2 inch nose plate is the narrower toe, which is what you want threading a doorway or an apartment hall. Rated 500 lb, 50 inches overall, standard loop handle on a straight back frame with a recessed heel.
The E1C climbers are a replaceable wear item, and their strips are stocked separately, so a truck that lives on stairs stays in service instead of being retired.
