This 5-inch swivel rides on a .842 inch square stem two inches long, the bolt-in caster for equipment built with square sockets where a round stem would spin in place and work loose under load.
The square stem is the point: a round stem can rotate inside its socket and slowly back out, but a square stem keys into a matching square tube or socket and cannot turn, so the bolt is the only thing it relies on to stay put. That makes it the right replacement for tubular carts, racks, and equipment whose legs are square stock rather than round. The bolt-in design lets you secure it through the socket rather than press-fit it. Match the .842 square size and the 2-inch stem length to the original so it seats fully and squarely.
