Individual Empire Series casters are rated up to approximately 6,000 lbs depending on wheel diameter and material. A four-caster platform with the largest Empire models can support total loads exceeding 18,000 lbs using conservative three-caster calculations.

Empire Series casters are commonly specified in steel service centers, aerospace assembly plants, automotive stamping facilities, shipyards, military logistics depots, and heavy machinery manufacturing. Any application where individual caster loads consistently exceed 1,500 lbs is a candidate for the Empire Series.

Yes. The Empire Series is available with position locks, wheel brakes, total lock brakes, and cam-operated floor locks depending on the specific model and capacity. For heavy die carts and tooling platforms, total lock brakes that simultaneously lock the wheel and swivel are the recommended option.

The 62 Series covers loads up to roughly 2,000 lbs per caster and works well for general heavy-duty towing and transport. When per-caster loads exceed 2,000 lbs, or when you need wheel diameters above 8", the Empire Series is the correct specification. Both are kingpinless designs, so the primary differentiator is load capacity and component scale.
