6-inch Wheels

Our 6 inch replacement wheels are rated from 400 to 3,000 lbs per wheel, depending on material and construction. Common options include polyurethane (up to 2,000+ lbs), rubber on iron (up to 1,500 lbs), cast iron (up to 2,500 lbs), and nylon (up to 3,000 lbs). Select wheels with at least 30% capacity headroom above your calculated per-wheel load.

Choose 6 inch wheels when you need increased floor clearance for rough or debris-laden surfaces, higher per-wheel load ratings, or when your equipment operates in dock or crossdock areas with floor transitions and plate thresholds. The additional inch of diameter also reduces rolling resistance and push-pull effort.

Six-inch wheels add approximately one inch to total equipment height compared to 5 inch wheels. For most industrial carts and platform trucks, this height increase is not a problem. However, confirm that the raised height does not interfere with shelving clearance, dock levelers, truck bed height, or ergonomic handle positions before upgrading wheel size.

Polyurethane is the most versatile option for general warehouse use, combining high load capacity with floor protection and abrasion resistance. For the heaviest loads with less concern for floor marking, nylon or cast iron offers maximum capacity. For environments with chemical exposure, neoprene or phenolic compounds may be appropriate.
