About This Wheel - 41EE62-01
Specify this 6-inch cast iron wheel for a kiln or forge cart that has to cross a broken hot floor with a load, the diameter that bridges floor cracks while holding its rating to 500°F.
Near a kiln or a forge the floor is as hard on wheels as the heat: thermal cracks, dropped scale, and slag ridges stop a small wheel cold, and any elastomer tread bakes hard and splits. The 6-inch cast iron wheel rides over those obstacles on solid iron that ignores the 500°F radiant heat and the abrasive debris, so a charge or product cart keeps moving where softer wheels fail in a shift. The roller bearing carries the heavy load through the slow trip. The wheel is heavy, loud, and marks the floor.
Ideal applications
- Kiln or forge cart crossing cracked hot floor, to 500°F
- Loaded product rig over slag ridges and dropped scale
- High-radiant-heat transport bridging thermal floor cracks
Skip cast iron if the route is finished floor or needs cushioning; a HI-TECH polyurethane wheel rolls non-marking and quiet below its heat ceiling.
Pairs with: a matching 6-inch by 2-inch caster fork to build a swivel or rigid caster, from the Caster Hardware collection.
Wrong fit? Finished floors, or more load width? See the HI-TECH 41JC62-03 and the wide-tread 50EE63-02.
Also in this family: the 5-inch cast iron 41EE52-01 and 8-inch cast iron 41EE82-01, or the cast iron wheel collection.
