Leveling Casters

A leveling caster has a built-in threaded adjustment mechanism. When the equipment is at its destination, you turn the adjustment handle (or use a wrench on the threaded stem) to lower a leveling pad to the floor. As the pad descends, it lifts the caster wheel off the ground, transferring the full load to the pad. The equipment is now stationary and level. Reverse the process to re-engage the wheel for mobility.

Leveling casters typically range from 300 lbs to over 2,000 lbs per caster. Light-duty models suit workbenches and server racks. Medium-duty and heavy-duty models handle CNC machines, packaging equipment, and industrial workstations. Always calculate per-caster load and include a safety factor when selecting capacity.
