Empire Series

Empire Series casters serve heavy manufacturing, die and mold transport, aerospace assembly, shipbuilding, power generation equipment handling, and any wheeled platform where per-caster loads exceed 1,000 lbs. They are commonly found on transfer carts, heavy-duty dollies, die change systems, and large industrial racks.

The series includes forged steel, polyurethane on cast iron, phenolic, rubber on iron, and nylon options. Forged steel is ideal for extreme heat and rail applications. Polyurethane on iron offers the best combination of high capacity and floor protection for smooth concrete environments.

Divide your total loaded weight by three (not four) to determine the required per-caster capacity. This three-caster rule accounts for uneven load distribution across four-point contact. For example, a 6,000 lb total load requires casters rated for at least 2,000 lbs each in a four-caster configuration.

Models with kingpinless swivel design are well-suited for tow line, tugger, and AGV applications. The enclosed raceway eliminates the swivel flutter and kingpin stress that towing forces create. Verify that the specific model you select includes kingpinless construction if towing is part of your use case.
