At 3 inches it keeps the deck low and the footprint small, the right size for a compact medical cart that tucks beside a bed, and the swivel lets it spin in place where there is no room to arc. The soft rubber tread on a polyolefin core rolls quiet and cushions the vibration that jars a monitor or a patient, staying non-marking grey on a finished ward floor. The chrome finish wipes clean and resists the corrosion of repeated disinfectant, on a four-bolt top plate. It holds from -30 to 180°F.
