A face brake presses a shoe against the wheel to stop it, holding the heaviest cart on its spot. The 410 carries up to 5,400 pounds across the series, the ductile iron metal wheel holds from -100 to 800°F, and at 10 inches it clears the biggest obstacles while the kingpinless welded raceway takes the extreme shock without a central kingpin to fail. The trade is that an iron wheel is hard, noisy, and damages a soft floor, so it belongs on bare concrete or steel. It rides on a roller bearing and bolts on a 5-1/4 by 7-1/4-inch top plate.
