About This Caster Socket - RT650SQ
Use this socket to turn a slim 0.652-inch square tube leg into a tool-free mount for a grip-ring stem caster.
A caster socket is a sleeve that seats in the open end of a hollow tube leg and gives it a round bore sized to hold a caster stem, so a light cart, rack, or display fixture built from thin square tube can take a standard caster without welding a plate or tapping the tube. This one fits a 0.652-inch inside-diameter square tube and accepts a 7/16-inch grip-ring stem, the sprung-ring stem that pushes in and holds without a nut, so casters drop in and pull out by hand for service. Match the socket to your exact tube ID, as the 0.620 and 0.652 square sizes are close.
Ideal applications
- 0.652-inch ID square tube legs on light carts and fixtures
- Tool-free 7/16 grip-ring mount in a 0.652-inch square tube
- Slim tube frames that need a caster without welding a plate
For a slightly smaller square tube, the 0.620-inch RT620SQ takes the same 7/16 grip-ring stem.
Pairs with: four 7/16-inch grip-ring stem casters and a square-tube frame built to 0.652-inch ID.
Wrong fit? Running a different tube size? See the 0.620-inch RT620SQ and the larger square-tube sockets in the Shepherd collection.
