About This Caster Socket - RT1310RD
Use this socket to turn a 1.31-inch round tube leg into a tool-free mount for a grip-ring stem caster.
A caster socket is a sleeve that seats in the open end of a hollow tube leg and gives it a round bore sized to hold a caster stem, so a cart, rack, or fixture built from round tube can take a standard caster without welding a plate or tapping the tube. This one fits a 1.31-inch inside-diameter round tube, slightly smaller than the 1.37 size, and accepts a 7/16-inch grip-ring stem, the sprung-ring stem that pushes in and holds without a nut, so casters drop in and pull out by hand. Match the socket to your exact tube ID before ordering.
Ideal applications
- 1.31-inch ID round tube legs on carts, racks, and fixtures
- Tool-free 7/16-inch grip-ring mount in a 1.31-inch round tube
- Round tube frames that need a caster without tapping the tube
For a slightly larger round tube, the 1.37-inch RT1370RD takes the same 7/16 grip-ring stem.
Pairs with: four 7/16-inch grip-ring stem casters and a round-tube frame built to 1.31-inch ID.
Wrong fit? Running a larger round tube or square tube? See the 1.37-inch RT1370RD and the square-tube sockets in the Shepherd collection.
