About This Washer - P10010

This is the plastic version of the 3/4 by 1-3/16 retaining washer, the bearing cap and spacer for wheels where a steel washer would rust, squeak, or scratch a finished floor it brushes against.

Plastic earns its place at this spot for three reasons: it cannot corrode onto the axle in a damp caster, it runs quieter against the bearing face than metal, and it will not score a sealed floor if the wheel sits low. The trade is load and heat, so it suits light and medium casters in clean or wet indoor service rather than heavy or hot-line rigs. It still does the core job, holding the bearing seated and setting the wheel's clearance off the yoke, so swap it in whenever you pull a light wheel for service.
