About This Bench - Model R, BIB 16
Model R is Model Q with the one change that matters in electronics: an ESD laminate top that dissipates static instead of holding it.
A standard laminate surface is an insulator, and an insulator under a circuit board is where charge builds and then finds a path through the part being handled. The damage from that is usually not a dead board on the bench; it is a weakened junction that fails weeks later in the field, which makes it expensive to trace and impossible to catch in test. The electrostatic dissipative top bleeds charge away in a controlled way, so the bench stops being the thing that has to be worked around. Everything else matches the Q: 60 inches by 30 inches, a 30 to 42 inch height adjustable ergonomic base, 6 inch drawer, bin holder, 120 volt 15 amp power supply, overhead light, and a 60 inch by 12 inch cantilever shelf on a blue frame.
Specify it wherever boards, drives, or bare components are handled outside their packaging.
Use it for
- Electronics assembly and rework stations
- Board-level repair and refurbishment benches
- Component kitting where parts leave anti-static bags
- Test and QA positions handling bare assemblies
