About This Caster - 410VG08501R

Set this 8-inch 410 Series rigid on a transfer cart or towline that has to follow a fixed track, where a flat wheel wanders off the line and a kingpin shears under the load.

The cast iron wheel carries a V-shaped groove in the tread that rides an inverted-V angle-iron rail set in the floor, so the cart is guided along a fixed path and cannot drift sideways off the line. The cast iron takes heat to 350°F for hot transfer lines, and the 410 Contender frame is kingpinless, riding a heat-treated raceway with no kingpin to shear. As the rigid version it holds the track straight on a large 7-1/4 by 5-1/4 inch top plate.

Ideal applications

• Transfer carts and towlines guided on an inverted-V floor rail
• V-groove tread that keeps the cart from drifting off the line
• Cast iron to 350°F where a kingpin shears under the load
